First Cognomics PhD Thesis

On January the 23rd 2013 Martine Hoogman defended her PhD thesis in the Aula of the Radboud University, Nijmegen. This is the first thesis of the Nijmegen Cognomics Initiative.

Martine studied the influence of ADHD risk genes on functioning of the brain to learn more about how ADHD genes affect the ADHD phenotype. For this purpose she has set up the Dutch part of the International Multicentre persistent ADHD genetics CollaboraTion (IMpACT) project and combined these data with data from the BIG project. One of her studies was published in the American Journal of Psychiatry. She now works as a postdoctoral researcher at the department of Language and Genetics, Max Planck Institute of Psycholinguistics.
