it expects to be started like buffer.exe but that does not make sense because the hostname cannot be changed like this (it is always on the local host). The only option is the tcp port number. The executable should also get help and more verbose output on screen. Subsequently it should be recompiled on all platforms and copied into realtime/general/buffer."exe" for all platforms. </p>

Already compiled for Linux 64 bit.

I am no longer working on FieldTrip. Hence, I donate all my bugs to the joint development user.

Boris, do you know whether this bug was fixed? I vaguely remember that we have been trying to squash this bug.

(In reply to comment #3) Ja, volgens mij wel. Anders moet je even in de source kijken, of een 'svn blame' doen op het bestand. Dan zie je het zo. Mvg, Boris

arjsto@mentat317:~/fieldtrip-dev/realtime/bin/glnxa64 532 $ ./demo_buffer Using default port, recommended usage 'demo_buffer [port]'. Starting FieldTrip buffer on port 1972... consider fixed

This closes a whole series of bugs that have been resolved (either FIXED/WONTFIX/INVALID) for quite some time. If you disagree, please file a new issue describing the issue on https://github.com/fieldtrip/fieldtrip/issues.
