Created attachment 217 on the left: the old result (from tutorial), on the right: the new transformation see attachment

The difference seems to be in the channel locations. Take a look at the channel closest to an 'ear'. In the original image the channel stays in place after megplanar, in the new one it shifts.

right, it might be just related to bug 1288 I just created the result from megplanar may qualitatively be the same, but the layout has changed (but I cannot reproduce the plot with the old layout, see bug 1288)

a general question: is the difference in the numbers that are computed by megplanar, or in the visualization, which involves interpolating those numbers on many pixels on the screen and which involves a layout?

Jörn M. Horschig - 2012-01-25 12:37:30 +0100

I cannot tell. In the beginning I assumed the former, now I have a strong preference for the later. But I am not sure how to use the same layout as on the tutorial page (it's not CTF151.lay) - so this bug here might be invalid ;)

Jorn, could you take care of confirming the cause of this discrepancy?

Jörn M. Horschig - 2012-02-03 11:53:03 +0100

Yep, I'm gonna check

Jörn M. Horschig - 2012-03-13 13:27:56 +0100

it indeed seems to be the case that layout lead to the wrong conclusion however, plotting without any layout should not be done (actually, in the current version it leads the topo to be rotated by 90 degrees CW) - maybe that should be changed in the tutorial?
